Later talking to Business Recorder, Interior Secretary Tariq Mahmud said that the two sides shared each other's experiences in tackling the problems of extremism and terrorism as both Pakistan and Turkey have been targets of terrorist activities during the past several years. He said that the two sides agreed to continue their cooperation to control this menace.
The interior secretary said that human trafficking has been another problem of mutual concern for some time. He said the Turkish delegation appreciated the measures taken by the Government of Pakistan to control human trafficking and assured their government's full support to tackle the problem.
Tariq Mahmud said that the two sides also discussed anti-narcotics and other internal and external security related issues confronting the two countries.
Analysts say that smuggling of narcotics through Turkish route has drastically declined after the enforcement of severe punishments for the drug smugglers by the Turkish government.
